Wick Care
First time using wood wicks?
No problem! Your candle will come pre-trimmed for your first light. After each use, trim the wick to remove burnt wood to enhance the candle’s performance.
Trimming the wick helps prevent sooting and performance issues. If there is too much wood material between the flame and the wax, you run the risk of your candle not being able to light or self-extinguishing shortly after.
Tips & Tricks:
Upon your first use, ensure your candle creates a full melt pool (wax is melted around the circumference of the candle vessel, and about 1/2 inch down, a little hang up is okay) 3-4 hours. This will help create a good wax memory for the rest of your candle’s life.
Trim your wick after each burn or pinch off burnt pieces with your fingertips if you don’t have a wick cutter.
Tilt your candle at an angle, light the wood wick, and let the flame draw across the wick.
Only use candles on non-flammable surfaces.
